Jeanene W. was experiencing trouble with keeping her basement area free of both unwanted moisture and pests. Her family's home was built in the 1960s and, like many other homes in the area, its foundation was starting to show the effects of the passing of time. It was eroded in some spots and had holes where animals and water could sneak through. 

Our team at Basement Systems of NY was happy to help and recommended a Sunhouse Window Well and an Everlast Window, both products that are specifically designed to regulate a home's temperature while keeping rain, weeds and animals out. We also sealed the holes in the foundation with out own concrete blocks, and in the end Jeanene was left with a sealed, clean basement! 

This homeowner contacted Basement Systems of New York to see how we could help their home, specifically remediate the water issue and foundation issues that they were having in their home.

After our specialist thoroughly inspected the owners' basement and the foundation it was inherent to him that they needed multiple systems to remove all the problems at hand. 

To remove all the issues that the homeowners were having we had to install our patented WaterGuard system with a TripleSafe sump pump, a new 4" concrete slab, and SmartJacks.

By installing these three systems we were able to keep water out of their home, as well keep the foundation of their home from shifting out of alignment with the earth. Since installing these systems they have not experienced any issues and they have had a dry and useable basement. 

Basement Systems of New York came to the rescue of these homeowners' crawl space. It was in dire need of fixing as both their home and crawl space were not 100% comfortable, along with this due to the moisture and humidity in their crawl space they had foundation issues, specifically related to their floor joists and support beams. 

To make these homeowners crawl space more functional and comfortable we removed all the Fiber Glass insulation that was old and any Vapor Barriers that may have been in both sections of the crawl space that we focused our work on. We install our CleanSpace crawl space encapsulation system along the floor and walls of the dirt section of the crawl space and install 3" of Closed Cell Foam in the ceilings of the two accessible portions of the crawlspace. Finally, we assisted the rotten 2" x 8" floor joists and remove the rotten 2x4 support, which we replaced with our SmartJack support system. 

In doing all of this we were able to make their home extremely comfortable and stable, more importantly, we were able to remediate the musty/moldy smell that they would constantly smell throughout their home. 

Basement Systems of New York was able to help this homeowner take control back of their home by alleviating the humidity they were experiencing, as well the uncomfortableness they were having in their home due to it not being encapsulated. 

To make sure that their home reaped all the benefits of being more comfortable we installed several different products to do this, we specifically installed 900 SQFT of CleanSpace, 190 SQFT of Closed Cell Spray Foam and our SaniDry XP dehumidifier.

By installing these products we were able to block the home from the earth, which ultimately allowed for the home to be more comfortable and bring peace of mind back to them about living in the home. 

This homeowner's foundation was in deep trouble and needed help to bring it back to its former beauty. Before this could be done our specialist needed to complete his inspection to get a grasp of how bad the situation was before he could propose a solution to the problem.

After conducting his inspection he realized that to bring their home's foundation back to where it used to be we would need to remove and replace approx 20 ft of the main girder and prep the floor with gravel and 6 Mil vapor barrier. We would need to as well pour a new 3" concrete floor and install our SmartJack support system to stabilize the floor joist and beams.

Once these systems were installed we were able to one alleviate the water problems that they were having, which were caused by the foundation issues in their home and two we were able to remove the foundation problems in their home which allow for them to have a sound home again that they did not have to consistently worry about daily. 

This basement was completely wet, as this homeowner was having multiple issues with water penetrating her home. 

To remediate the issues at hand we installed both systems inside and outside her home. The specific systems that we installed were our DryTrak perimeter waterproofing system with a SuperSump pump, IceGuard for their gutters and finally lawnScape for their yard.

Having implemented these three systems we were able to make sure for their home was secure from both the inside and outside regardless of the season they were in or the upcoming one. Since everything was installed they have noticed nothing but comfort and they are loving every minute of being able to reclaim their basement for additional space. 

This homeowner's home was 90% secure from all the elements, the only element they had not accounted for was that dreaded humidity. To get their home to the 100% mark they needed to install several dehumidifiers due to the size of their home.

To accomplish this we installed four separate SaniDry Santa Fe dehumidifiers. Each dehumidifier works independently of each other and was calibrated specifically to keep relative humidity below 65% to keep the home as dry and comfortable as possible but to also stop mold from growing in the home. 

Since these four independent dehumidifiers have been installed the homeowners have noticed nothing but a drastic change in the comfort level of their home. 

These homeowners love to entertain both their friends and family members in their basement, which they had finished and installed a fully functional bar just for those occasions. The only problem was that it was extremely uncomfortable and they, as well their guests consistently realized this.

Luckily Basement Systems of New York was able to rid their basement of this problem and allow them to return to how they used to entertain before this problem revealed itself to them.

To fix the issue at hand we installed a SaniDry XP Basement Air System to keep humidity low with a duct kit, which has allowed for the system to run perfectly and allow them to continue to make many lasting memories in one of their favorite places. 

This home's crawl space was uninhabitable by anyone or anything due to how uncomfortable it, even if they wanted to get into it they had no way to due to the entrance being so small.

To change this we installed our patented TurtL hatch, along with that we built a new block entrance along their stone foundation. To transform the uncomfortable crawl space and the home into something more comfortable we sprayed 3" of closed-cell foam on the foundation walls around the rim joists and rerouted the existing dryer vent into the box beam.

Once the work was completed we were able to transform their crawl space from one that was completely uncomfortable, not usable and unaccessible to an area they can access extremely quickly and easily. 

This home was extremely humid throughout the entire year, no matter what the homeowner did they could not rid their home of humidity. Because of this, he decided to give us a call to see what could be done to help rid his home of the excess humidity he was dealing with. We were able to help them bring their home back to levels of normalcy after we installed our Basementaire Dehumidification system with condensate pumps. This system was able to take the moisture that they were experiencing from the humidity in their home and toss it outside. Since the installation of our system their humidity levels both absolute and relative have remained at normal respectable levels, which has allowed them to be more comfortable and lower their utility bills. 

These new homeowners contacted Basement Systems of New York after purchasing their 1930s home. From what they could see, their block walls were buckling, as well they had water coming in that would pool and sit against their walls. At the time of their consultation, there was an inch of water on the floor. As well there were some stair-stepping cracks on two of their other walls. These homeowners reached out to us because of our expertise in the industry, as well as because of a previous project that we had completed in Chichester, New York.

Because of how thorough our Specialist was during their consultation these homeowners wanted us to fix the issues that were plaguing their home. To take care of their foundation and water issue we had to implement several of our patented systems. 

First, we started by demolishing their old concrete slab and then removed the debris. Once completed we started digging the whole for our basin, as well as our discharge line for our TripleSafe sump pump.

Once our patented sump pump was fully installed we then applied our patented foundation support systems. We started by digging for our precast footings, which we leveled before installing our SmartJack systems. Once our SmartJacks were installed we then lifted, leveled, and support the home. We then installed our PowerBrace support systems with top lever brackets in the center of the basement. Once we completed the installation of our PowerBrace supports we, applied our CarbonArmor wall repair system on their wall where they were experiencing stair-step cracks. Finally, before laying our new concrete slab we applied our CleanSpace vapor barrier to the walls. These homeowners' dream of owning a cabin on the mountainside in Big Indian, New York, turned into a nightmare when they discovered worrisome structural issues. To ensure a lasting solution, we dug deep into the earth to create solid footings for our SmartJack systems. These sturdy poured footings were strategically placed at the front and center of the cabin, providing strong bases for the SmartJack installations.

In addition, we addressed the issue at the very back of the crawl space by replacing their old main girder with a new triple main girder. This is supported by our SmartJacks, this reinforced girder significantly improved the overall stability of the cabin.

Recently, we received a call from a homeowner distressed about their sinking foundation. The culprit? The home’s location on the clay shores of a lake, which had caused the house to slide out of its original foundation.

To tackle this issue, our first step was to temporarily support the home. We then carefully knocked down the original block foundation wall. With the old wall removed, we began installing our pre-construction Stabil-Lok push piers, driving them deep down to the stable strata/bedrock.

With the piers securely in place, we laid the rebar for the new floor and footing. Once this framework was completed, we poured the new footing and floor. Next, we constructed a new block foundation wall, incorporating rough openings for doors and windows. This preparation ensured that the homeowner could easily install their new doors and windows.

Thanks to these efforts, the home is no longer sinking and is structurally sound. The homeowner can now rest easy, knowing their home is safe and stable. They couldn't be happier with the outcome of their project.

The Marist Brothers Center faced a significant problem with their dam, which was crucial in holding back their pond. The dam had started leaking, threatening the stability of the nearby building. In search of a reliable solution, they reached out to us for help.

Our team quickly assessed the situation and devised a strategic plan to address both the leak and the structural issues. We drilled several precise 5/8" pilot holes down to the bottom of the dam's wall. These holes allowed us to reach the voids that had formed underneath the structure.

We then used our advanced concrete leveling product, PolyLevel, to fill these voids. PolyLevel is incredibly versatile and can lift, level, support, and waterproof structures. In this case, it was the perfect solution to restore the integrity of the dam wall.

By carefully injecting PolyLevel, we were able to lift and level the wall almost entirely back to its original position. This not only stopped the pond from leaking but also resolved the structural issues affecting the nearby building.

When this homeowner reached out to us, they were facing significant settlement issues with their home. The root of the problem? Their foundation had been poured in separate sections, without proper reinforcement. This not only compromised the stability of their home but also led to water penetration issues and a musty smell seeping upstairs from an unfinished area.

We knew this project would require a comprehensive solution, so we got to work. First, we removed the old, deteriorating supports and replaced them with our state-of-the-art SmartJacks. These galvanized steel supports are designed to resist moisture and provide long-lasting stability.

Next, we dug down the dirt floor to install our WaterGuard new slab system, addressing the water infiltration issue. But we didn’t stop there. Knowing the foundation’s weak points, we excavated around the exterior to install pre-construction Stabil-Loc push piers. These piers were tied into number 8 rebar and connected to the foundation, providing the much-needed strength the original construction lacked.

With everything in place, we formed around the piers and rebar, both inside and outside, and poured concrete to create a strong, unified bond. Finally, we ground down the walls and applied SRS carbon fiber strips, ensuring the walls would remain stable and secure for years to come.

The transformation was remarkable. The homeowner was thrilled with the outcome, grateful that they addressed the issue before it became an even bigger headache. Thanks to our work, their home now boasts restored structural integrity and, most importantly, peace of mind.
