This homeowner sought our help to transform their wet basement into a usable space. After inspection, we identified the need for a year-round dry basement and implemented a Dual Waterproofing system. Traditional systems were not suitable due to the home's monolithic foundation, which utilized the slab as a footing. If we installed a traditional waterproofing system we would be compromising the structural integrity of the home. Additionally, cracks in the slab caused hydrostatic pressure. To resolve this, we installed separate laterals on both sides of the basement. To enhance the space without finishing it, we applied our Foamax panels, which provide a finished appearance. Moreover, we addressed structural concerns by providing permanent support through the installation of Smartjacks. Additionally, the crawl spaces required attention, as the existing beams spanned too large an area, and sections of the footing were undermined. Our solution involved pouring slabs into each of the crawl spaces to rectify these issues. At Basement Systems Of New York, we're committed to creating functional and structurally sound spaces while addressing waterproofing and structural challenges. After purchasing this beautiful new home in Cold Spring, Ny the new homeowner noticed that there were several problems that were extremely noticeable with the home's basement, as well as its foundation. They contacted Basement Systems of New York to see how they could rectify the situation at hand.
Because they are located right next to the river we could not warranty our complete drainage system against all rain, but only guarantee that their home would be waterproofed against average and mild storms. In order to guarantee this we had to install a multi-piece system that consisted of us digging down and installing footings in front of their compromised wall and laying a new block wall, a perimeter drainage system with a lateral on the interior wall, our SuperSump Plus sump pump, a new concrete floor, CleanSpace along their walls, and finally our SaniDry XP dehumidifier.
Since completing this project the homeowner has not seen any water in his home, as well feels a million times more secure with now having a properly supported home. As well they could not be more than ecstatic with the final product.
This home had bowed walls, as well a flooding problem. Bowed walls compromise the structural integrity of the home, in order to restore structural integrity to the home we installed our patented PowerBrace system. In order to fix the flooding problem occuring in the basement we installed our patented WaterGuard system to stop the water from coming up from the foundation and directing it to the sump pump.
The management team at the Olde Post Mall Apartment Complex contacted Basement Systems of New York to see what could be done to help improve the overall quality of their tenants lives in three of their apartment buildings. In order for us to remediate the temperature and musty smell issues that their tenants were dealing with we needed to install several of our patented systems to take care of the issues at hand.
In order to transform their crawl spaces we needed to blow 4-6" of gravel in all three crawl spaces and install our FlowGuard perimeter drainage system, which was then connected to our TripleSafe sump pumps. We then encapsulated the systems installed by pouring a new 4" concrete floor on top. After installing these systems we then sprayed spray foam insulation in both the floor and rim joists to seal the thermal barrier of the crawl spaces. Finally we installed two Basementaire dehumidifiers and Everlast doors.
Since we completed this project the tenants have noticed the musty smell that they were living with is now gone, as well the overall comfort level of their apartments have greatly improved. They could not be more thrilled to have a space now that they do not want to leave.

Initially, this homeowner sought assistance from a different contractor to address their sinking home issues. However, the first company, upon starting the project, realized the complexities involved and abandoned the project, leaving the homeowner in a difficult situation. Understandably, the homeowner was hesitant to trust another contractor, having already faced disappointment.
After two years of patiently building trust and rapport with the client, they finally felt confident in our ability to complete the project. During this time, we provided consistent support, answering their questions, and alleviating their concerns.
Our process began by excavating the right side of the home's foundation. This involved digging down eighteen feet to reach the footing, creating space under it. We then utilized hydraulic rams to drive our Stabil-Loc push piers into bedrock or the appropriate strata. Once in place, we applied pressure upwards. This not only halted the home's sinking but also restored it to its original height, preventing future movement.
Moving to the front of the home, we had to first temporarily support the structure before removing the front porch and wall. Once safely supported, we excavated to the required depth. Here, we used pre-construction Stabil-Loc push piers to prevent the foundation from sinking, even without the weight of the structure. Afterward, we poured a new footing and wall, rebuilt the porch, and gently lowered the home.
With the exterior repairs complete, we turned our attention to reinforcing the interior foundation wall. CarbonArmor reinforcements were applied to prevent inward bowing as the exterior soil settled. To address the uneven floors caused by the sinking, we utilized our PolyLevel leveling system, ensuring a smooth, even surface.
To complete the project, we also renewed the sidewalk and graded the yard. Throughout the two-year journey and the project itself, the homeowner had numerous questions and concerns. However, upon project completion, they expressed their satisfaction and relief, knowing that their home was now secure and stable. Our work not only restored their peace of mind but also their confidence in their home's stability.
