Basement Systems of New York came to the rescue of this two-year-old home. Due to poor compaction during backfilling of the concrete porch with bluestone the cap was already sinking 1 1/2". We were able to remedy this eyesore and hazard for the homeowner with the help of PolyLevel. We were able to remove the eyesore and hazard around their home by injecting the concrete with PolyLevel and we were able to bring it back to a perfect level
Our team at Basement Systems was tasked with installing a new discharge line to remove water out of the basement.
This homeowner reached out to us because she has been struggling with water seepage in her basement during heavy rains. To address this issue and eliminate the inconvenience of manually dumping dehumidifiers, they decided to seek professional help. Our team stepped in and provided a comprehensive solution to make their basement dry, worry-free, and optimized for the long term.
To address this, we provided them with a cutting-edge solution. We installed our FlowGuard waterproofing system in their basement, equipped with laterals that direct water toward our TripleSafe sump pump. Moreover, we integrated our BasementAire dehumidification system with the TripleSafe sump pump, ensuring an automatic drainage process for them. This way, they can say goodbye to the hassle of dumping the dehumidifiers themselves. Finally, before calling this project complete we installed a new concrete floor, bolstering the basement's protection against water seepage. By doing this, we create a robust and reliable system that keeps their basement dry and their possessions safe even during the heaviest downpours.
Our comprehensive solution allows these homeowners to enjoy a dry and hassle-free basement. With the FlowGuard system, the TripleSafe sump pump, and the BasementAire dehumidification system working in harmony, they can rest assured that their basement remains protected from water seepage.
No longer burdened with manually emptying the dehumidifiers, they can confidently embrace every rainy day without worry. Our team's expertise has transformed her basement into a secure and optimized space for years to come.
These homeowners contacted Basement Systems Of New York because they were experiencing water seepage through multiple locations in their basement. More specifically water was coming in through the walls, the wall-floor joints, and through the center of their floor via hydrostatic pressure. The reason why water was coming into their basement was that there was an old plank-poured foundation and at some point, the builders ended up stopping it and building a block wall on top of it. By forming the walls this way so many years ago a failure point had been created.
To fix the problem at hand and to make sure that this basement stays dry forever we installed a multi-step system comprised of several of our patented products. We first started by digging our trench around the perimeter of the basement, as well as two laterals through the center of the floor. These trenches would eventually be where our perforated piping, gravel, and sump pump for our system will live. Once done we turned our attention to installing our WaterGuard waterproofing system around the basement perimeter at the wall-floor joints. After installing our WaterGuard we applied CleanSpace to their basement walls in order to catch any water that may come into the home and direct it to our waterproofing system. Finally, before pouring our new concrete slab, we applied drain matting to their old slab, in doing so we are able to make sure that any water that comes up via hydrostatic pressure will have a path of least resistance and will be directed to our laterals. We then finished this project off by pouring a brand new concrete slab over our system.
Since installing our system in the basement of this home they have not seen any water in their home. These homeowners could not have been any happier with how their project turned out. More importantly than anything to these homeowners is knowing that peace of mind has been restored to them.
These homeowners originally called us out to inspect their homes' foundation just after purchasing their home because they noticed a lot of cracks in their foundation. Because of the issue, they began doing their due diligence and researched companies online. They found our company website, which told them that if you have cracks in your foundation, your floors may be out of level upstairs. Also, they were experiencing cracks above their windows and doors, which is a tell-tale sign that your foundation could be sinking.
They called us to see if there was a solution to rectify the problem. During the initial inspection of the home we took benchmark measurements and provided a full inspection of the foundation. This told us that the foundation without a doubt had sunken.
After providing them with the proposal, they were unfortunately unable to do the project due to lack of funds, and they needed some time to budget for their project. So two years later, they reached out and, said they were ready to do the project.
Because of the time that had passed, we had to reinspect their home. Upon this inspection due to increased settlement the project did have to expand. Originally the project called for eighteen push piers and turned into twenty-one piers because we had to support the sections that previously were not an issue.
Since completing their project they have noticed that their home feels so much stronger when they walk, they don't constantly hear noises that worry them, and they don't have issues with items in their home rolling away due to their home sinking. Most importantly to them, peace of mind has been restored to them and they can sleep peacefully at night now not having to worry if their home is going to fall.
