This homeowner sought our help to transform their wet basement into a usable space. After inspection, we identified the need for a year-round dry basement and implemented a Dual Waterproofing system. Traditional systems were not suitable due to the home's monolithic foundation, which utilized the slab as a footing. If we installed a traditional waterproofing system we would be compromising the structural integrity of the home. Additionally, cracks in the slab caused hydrostatic pressure. To resolve this, we installed separate laterals on both sides of the basement. To enhance the space without finishing it, we applied our Foamax panels, which provide a finished appearance. Moreover, we addressed structural concerns by providing permanent support through the installation of Smartjacks. Additionally, the crawl spaces required attention, as the existing beams spanned too large an area, and sections of the footing were undermined. Our solution involved pouring slabs into each of the crawl spaces to rectify these issues. At Basement Systems Of New York, we're committed to creating functional and structurally sound spaces while addressing waterproofing and structural challenges. After purchasing this beautiful new home in Cold Spring, Ny the new homeowner noticed that there were several problems that were extremely noticeable with the home's basement, as well as its foundation. They contacted Basement Systems of New York to see how they could rectify the situation at hand.
Because they are located right next to the river we could not warranty our complete drainage system against all rain, but only guarantee that their home would be waterproofed against average and mild storms. In order to guarantee this we had to install a multi-piece system that consisted of us digging down and installing footings in front of their compromised wall and laying a new block wall, a perimeter drainage system with a lateral on the interior wall, our SuperSump Plus sump pump, a new concrete floor, CleanSpace along their walls, and finally our SaniDry XP dehumidifier.
Since completing this project the homeowner has not seen any water in his home, as well feels a million times more secure with now having a properly supported home. As well they could not be more than ecstatic with the final product.
The management team at the Olde Post Mall Apartment Complex contacted Basement Systems of New York to see what could be done to help improve the overall quality of their tenants lives in three of their apartment buildings. In order for us to remediate the temperature and musty smell issues that their tenants were dealing with we needed to install several of our patented systems to take care of the issues at hand.
In order to transform their crawl spaces we needed to blow 4-6" of gravel in all three crawl spaces and install our FlowGuard perimeter drainage system, which was then connected to our TripleSafe sump pumps. We then encapsulated the systems installed by pouring a new 4" concrete floor on top. After installing these systems we then sprayed spray foam insulation in both the floor and rim joists to seal the thermal barrier of the crawl spaces. Finally we installed two Basementaire dehumidifiers and Everlast doors.
Since we completed this project the tenants have noticed the musty smell that they were living with is now gone, as well the overall comfort level of their apartments have greatly improved. They could not be more thrilled to have a space now that they do not want to leave.

After waterproofing and pouring a new concrete slab in one of the building complexes at Olde Post Mall two years, ago they decided based on how well of a job we did, as well how well our system was, performing to have us take care of the crawl spaces of buildings number nine and four.
To deal with the presence of water, humidity and moisture in the crawl space we first had to clean out the spaces to start the installation process of our patented systems. We then started to prepare the perimeter of the ginormous crawl space for our WaterGuard waterproofing system.
Once our WaterGuard had been laid properly and was level with the help of gravel we then moved on to installing seven of our SuperSump Plus sump pump systems, which all were tied directly into our perimeter system, we then drilled our weep hole throughout the entire perimeter of the crawl space. In doing this any water that would/could penetrate the crawl space would be collected and directed to our waterproofing system and out to daylight through our discharge lines. We then started to lay our drain mat with gravel before laying our new concrete slab. To finish this crawl space we installed two of our Basementaire dehumidification systems.
Based on how the previous system that we installed is working both the tenants and property management group can be assured that everyone will be comfortable and have peace of mind restored back to them. More importantly for the property management group, they know that have reduced their level of liability while adding value to their properties.
About four years ago the Old Post Mall apartment complex in Fishkill, New York, contacted us to solve a water problem that no one else could solve. That was until they reached out to us. When we evaluated the complex, we knew we could solve their problems. This, meant that their crawl spaces stayed dry.
When we started waterproofing the first four buildings' they wanted to know that we would do the quality of work that we promised. More importantly, they wanted to make sure that we would be able to solve their problems. As always, we do as we say we are going to do. Because of this next year, we were awarded another contract with them that consisted of three more buildings. The year after that we were awarded three more buildings. Finally, in 2022, we were awarded the last four buildings.
For these projects, we are not traditionally remedying the issue. Typically we jackhammer around the perimeter of the crawl space or basement, install perforated pipe and attach it to a sump pump and apply concrete back over to finish the area. For this project, we are not going to go deeper. We are going to do the opposite and bring in on average six inches of gravel, install our pipe underneath that gravel, then apply our CleanSpace vapor barrier and pour a new concrete slab, which will encompass our waterproofing system along with our TripleSafe sump pumps that will all have custom discharge lines which will run all water out to one central location, this will allow the water to run away from each building.
They knew they made the right choice in contacting us to complete this extensive project based on our quality of work and professionalism during the first few buildings we completed for them. The biggest reason they knew that we were the right choice was that their tenants continuously let the management group know that their homes felt so much more comfortable, as well as some health issues that they had subsided due to our work. They could not be happier with how their projects turned out. They knew they chose the right company to invest in and help their complex.
