Basement Systems of New York was contacted to give this homeowner's walkway a fresh face. Over the many years of the walkway being there, it had sunk a great deal. We were able to rectify this tripping hazard and eyesore for them with the help of PolyLevel. By drilling several pilot holes we were able filled the area that had sunken down with PolyLevel to make it flush again, but more importantly, give the homeowner peace of mind.
These homeowners were transforming their old unused space into a living area for a family member that has severe health issues. They are transforming it to give their family member the ability to regain some control over their life, as well as independence. More importantly, they were transforming the space so that they did not have to worry about their family member.
In order for the space to be converted into a livable area, we had to pour a new slab with rebar reinforcements, as well as implement our Smartjacks system in order to stop water from coming up through the floor due to hydrostatic pressure, as well to make the building structurally sound.
Because these systems were implemented and they have been able to move their family member into the new space the entire home, as well the members in it have been able to have a sigh of relief.
This homeowner noticed that he was having issues with his foundation being extremely wet, as well as water coming through at the corners of his basement walls, because of these two issues he contacted Basement Systems of New York to see what could be done to help take care of his water issue.
In order to take care of the issues at hand for this homeowner we excavate along the back and right side of their home in order to get to their current footing drains, we then installed a new footing drain system with triple wall 4" perforated pipe. We then sprayed their foundation with our GMX waterproofing coating with drain board and finally rough backfilled the trench that we had created in order to install their new footing drain system.
Since installing our systems on the back and right side of their home they have noticed that their home is so much more comfortable, as well as a dry foundation which has allowed their foundation to remain structurally sound.
These homeowners contacted Basement Systems Of New York to see how we could help their home, which was built in 1956. Because of where they are located, the pitch of their land, and all the rain that we have seen this year, their basement has been taking on water through cracks in their poured concrete foundation, as well as the wall-floor joint.
To fix the problems in their home we installed three of our patented waterproofing products. We started by creating our trench around the perimeter of their basement before installing any of our products. After digging our trench we laid perforated pipe with gravel. We then proceeded to encapsulate the walls of the basement with CleanSpace. In doing so, we can ensure that no moisture or water will penetrate the basement again. Finally, we installed our WaterGuard waterproofing system and connected it to our TripleSafe sump pump before applying concrete.
Two days after installing their system, they were able to test their new system thanks to a major rainstorm that moved in. Throughout the storm, it was made clear to them that their home was bone dry and there was not any excess moisture or humidity. Because of how well their system performed, they could not be any happier with making the decision to invest in their home and improve their overall comfort level.
